Salzburg Austria

overcast 22 °C

Hi There after 6 days without internet access I can finally update the blog.
We left Switzerland after some very peacefull days. We drove through Germany to Austria where we found our next stop the Jess Hotel. Kenzie was very excited to stay in a place named after her BFF. The hotel was undergoing renovations and was rather dusty but very trendy and comfortable. after no hot water on night 2 we were given a complimentary breakfast for 4 in the bakery below. this served us well for the trip ahead and was enough to make rolls for lunch too. Bonus!!
We crammed alot into our 1 full day in Sulzburg, going to the salt mines in the morning, exploring the centre of the old town after lunch and then a tour of the trick fountains in Hellbrunn palace. It was just like the Itenerary michael and I did on our european tour 15 years ago.

The salt mines were a great educational trip for both us and the girls although Briana was not impressed with the outfits we had to wear.
We got to ride into the mountain on a miners train and ride 2 fast wooden miners slides. We took a ferry across a salt lake under the mountain all quite impressive.
The old town did'nt disappoint as I quickly found the main street where all the signs have to be made of wrought iron, possibly the coolest street in europe (in my opinion).
The tour of Hellbrunn trick fountains did'nt dissappoint the girls, as they tried to work out quickly how not to get wet.
